The buns were very soft with char siew inside. It is best to serve hot with a cup of tea.
Ingredients:-
300g Hong Kong flour
5g Yeast
5g Baking powder
70g Sugar
3g Shortening
120ml Water (120 - 150ml)
Fillings:-
120g chopped spring onion
122g barbecued pork cubes
Some barbecued pork sauce
Coating:-
Egg
White sesame seeds
Method:-
- Combined the daugh ingredients, kneed into smooth dough. Let it proof for one hour.
- Cooked fillings and keep in fridge for 30 mins for later use.
- Divide the dough into 10 portions.
- Wrap in filling and seal it well. Flatten.
- Brush the surface of the bun with beaten egg, roll in sesame seeds, leave to rise for 30 mins
- Steam over high heat for 5 mins. Use the middle heat to pan fry till golden.
